ABOUT PROJECT
INTRODUCTION
We are the “Serendipity” group, a third-year student from Universiti Malaysia Sabah Labuan International Campus, and have been given the task of doing a crowdfunding project for our International Corporate Finance subject. This project is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) between Serendipity Group, UMSKAL students with Persatuan Belia Miri (PBM) to collaborate in providing a food bank to Kompleks Kebajikan Hamidah Yakup (PERYATIM) in Miri, Sarawak.
OBJECTIVE
The objective of this crowdfunding campaign is.
1. To raise funds for the PERYATIM orphanage in Miri, Sarawak, with the aim of providing necessary items such as food to the children residing in the orphanage. The estimated budget required is around RM 1500.00.
2. To create awareness regarding the importance and benefit of crowdfunding in promoting diversity, inclusion, and social impact by providing a platform for underrepresented groups to access funding and resources.
PEOPLE WE SERVE
Our primary focus is on orphaned children from Miri. PERYATIM is a non-profit organization that provides support and assistance to orphan children in Miri. Our campaign will collaborate with Persatuan Belia Miri to raise funds to provide food banks for Kompleks Kebajikan Hamidah Yakup (PERYATIM).
The Share Blessing, Feed Hope Campaign aims to raise funds RM1500 to establish a food bank for Kompleks Kebajikan Hamidah Yakup (PERYATIM) in Miri. The food bank will provide non-perishable, nutritious food items to the orphan children. Our campaign will collaborate with Persatuan Belia Miri, a local youth organization from Miri, to promote and run the campaign. We will use social media such as Facebook and Instagram to reach out to potential supporters or donators. We will provide regular updates and progress reports to our supporters.

RISKS AND CHALLENGES
Conducting a crowdfunding campaign comes with various risks and challenges, including the possibility of receiving less or exceeding the donation target within the given time frame.
Insufficient Fund
If the campaign receives less than the targeted donation, it could affect the overall success of the initiative, and it may not be possible to purchase the targeted supplies. This could result in a delay, leading to the loss of the resources invested in planning and executing the campaign.
Excessive Fund
On the other hand, exceeding the donation target within the given time frame could lead to new challenges. Managing the surplus funds effectively could become a problem, and failure to do so may result in the misallocation of resources.
Donor Attention Concern
Another challenge associated with crowdfunding campaigns is the competition for donator attention. With numerous campaigns competing for donator funds, it may be challenging to stand out and capture the attention of potential donators. Therefore, developing an effective marketing and communication strategy is crucial to maximizing the reach and impact of the campaign.
